Review: Trick Shot by Kayla Grosse

4 stars

Just wrapped up "Trick Shot", a Christmas novella with a zesty twist, and boy, was it a ride! The only hitch was the long-drawn identity confusion.

Here's the deal: Leo and Riley end up stuck at the airport on Christmas Eve. After a few drinks, sparks ignite. But there's a snag - Riley thinks Leo is his hockey star brother Lucas. Plus, Leo has this complex situation with his best mate Jace that runs deeper than he'd like to admit. When their flight gets cancelled, Jace comes to collect Leo and isn't too chuffed about being roped into this identity farce.

As the night progresses, they find themselves bonding on a profound level. But when Riley discovers the deception on Christmas Day, she feels let down as she had really trusted them. I'll stop there though!

Their love story was sizzling yet tender; their intimacy truly heartwarming. The only stumbling block for me was anticipating the revelation about the identity confusion.

This was my maiden voyage with Kayla Grosse's writing and it certainly won't be my last! Big ups to Kayla for hooking me up with an advance copy – just airing my genuine thoughts here! What do you guys think? Have you read it yet?

Just a heads up - if you use the links I've shared below, I get a small cut through the Amazon Influencer program. No extra cost to you; just a neat way to support my work!
