Review: The Meaning of Life by BA Tortuga (BA's Cozy Cowboys #12)

Updated: Sep 27, 2023

5 stars

Hey there, peeps! Just finished my first BA Tortuga book and boy, was it a ride! It's a beautifully woven story about JD and Nash - two guys with an emotional bond that packs a punch and just enough spice to keep you on your toes.

JD's a bullfighter who suddenly becomes a dad to twins after his best friend Kayla tragically passes away at a rodeo event. On the other hand, Nash is an ex-rodeo cowboy who was at the same event as Kayla. He gets grazed by a bullet and ends up taking care of Kayla's horse Cherish. He reaches out to JD to pass on the horse, even though they barely knew each other from their rodeo days.

When Nash bumps into JD, he finds him struggling with grief and steps up to lend him a hand. Now, I won't lie – there were bits where I had to suspend disbelief. Like Tammy's reaction towards the twins after her daughter's passing felt off. And Nash seemed too good to be true with all his help for JD.

But hey, all said and done – I loved the journey of JD and Nash towards their happily ever after! This is my first dip into the Cozy Cowboys series but I'm already excited for more!

Oh, by the way - got this book for free from Gay Romance Reviews but this review is straight from the heart! What's your favorite BA book? Let me know in the comments!
