Review: Lust by Sienna Moreau (Seven Deadly Sins #1)

5 stars

Hey guys! I finished Lust by Sienna Moreau last month, and I absolutely loved it! I’m a little annoyed that I read the ARC because I know that the next book is not going to be out for a while lol.

Sienna builds the world in a way that is engaging and not a ton of info dumps. The Sins have lived for a gazillion years, and they rule the world. Lust is one of the seven deadly sins. He embodies desire, and many people want to be close to him because of that. He doesn’t participate in the orgies that he hosts at his home because the act leaves him wanting and unfulfilled. He observes and uses the desire to fill up his magical reserves. His galas are very exclusive, so many humans want an invite.

Deacon is a human, a cop, and the younger brother to Conor St. James, who has been missing for four years. His brother was the only family he had left, and he was determined to find him. Deacon has been given insider information that his brother was last seen with the Sins and he secures an invite to Lust’s gala to get answers. Lust is drawn to Deacon, which is unusual for him. Lust’s demons recommend that he kill Deacon, but he refuses to. Deacon and Lust definitely have a case of instalust, and Deacon tries to confront Lust, and things get wonky.

Deacon cannot resist Lust, but Lust realizes that Deacon is immune to his powers, and Deacon also understands a language that only the Sins speak. After their first encounter, Lust declares Deacon, his guest and locks him in a room.

There were a few moments where there was a bit of suspension of belief because Deacon’s principles and morals kind of go the wayside as the story progresses. I wish there was a bit more introspection on Deacon’s part about his moral compass shift or it was clearer that he was becoming morally grey because of his relationship with Lust. I like that they got their HFN, and I’m excited to see what happens next.

For full transparency, I am a Patreon supporter of Sienna, and I got to read the WIP chapters. I loved how some of the feedback from her Patreon members was implemented.

Thank you to Sienna Moreau for the ARC copy, and this is my honest review. So what do you think? Are you ready to dive into this dark urban fantasy romance?

Hey there, just so you know, if you fancy clicking on any of the links below, I’ll get a little something from the Amazon Influencer program. It won’t cost you an extra penny, and it’s a cool way to back what I do!
